Default "Tasteless" Photo of Palin on Newsweek Cover

The conservative "liberal media" is all up in arms today calling for a boycott of newsweek due to the above cover photo of Palin on stands today.

It is being called tasteless, and a disgusting low blow attack on Palin.

Why?

What you can't figure it out?

BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T PHOTOSHOP HER LIKE THEY DO WITH SUPERMODELS

Yes.. We are facing a global economic collapse and numerous other issues..
but the important one today is if newsweek should photoshop Palin to look better than she is.

Hooray!

People (ALL people) need to chill out about their preferred candidates and stop bitching about every little thing they see or hear.

I am completely lost to how this photo is supposed to be "tasteless." I'd love to hear their warped reasoning.

Warned you we tried.
Listen you did not.
Now screwed we all will be.

Nevermind.

A quick search on Youtube found another posting of the same video.

I understand their point, in that Obama's picture is frequently put up in angelic ways, and that Palin's was put up completely unretouched to go along with an unflattering article.

Still, I don't think it was that bad a picture of her, and I think they're making too big a deal out of it.

YAY! Let's talk about how purdy this here common-folk girl is who got picked for VP. Come on. This is ridiculous.

I think that they're all up in arms about this is sexist. They talk about how good Barack looks, but don't have ANY PROOF they've retouched images of him. Everyone gets made up for pictures. Men routinely have wrinkles. Google image "Obama Newsweek." Yeah, he's portrayed well, but hey, he's a good-looking guy, much like Palin is "beautiful" (the word routinely used by the girls having girl talk on Fox Noise). And he clearly has pores and wrinkles in the shots. There's even one with some neck wrinkles, given the angle of his face. Which way do these women want it? Glossy and supermodely? Or "celebrating natural beauty"? I agree there could have been a more flattering shot, but it's not like it's the first time the magazine (or any magazine) has run a close-up face shot.

Let's even look at a cover shot of Michelle Obama from the same "liberal elitist" magazine:

*Gasp* She has wrinkles! Her one eye is a little off.

Damn, I remember when Thom Yorke took Rolling Stone to task (I think, I haven't found the pic/story...) for retouching him.

This is just going to sell more Newsweek, which is owned by the left-leaning Washington Post. Some will cancel, sure, but some will buy when they haven't before. And more importantly it'll keep us talking about this claptrap instead of real issues, like a panel finding her guilty of abusing her authority as governor.

Thanks to TV and for the convenience of TV, you can only be one of two kinds of human beings, either a liberal or a conservative.

I do find it odd how they halo Obama up like he is Jesus 2. I've seen it not only on the cover of Newsweek , but also other publications such as Rolling Stone. Praise to the Sun God!

Upside * Both candidates are better than our current yeehaw frat-boy pres.
Downside * We, the people, chose to elect yeehaw frat-boy. Some say twice.
Darkside * Some people, even now, are not paying attention.

I have to agree there, though I'm not too happy with either of these candidates. I used to like McCain better before he sold out to the religious right to get elected. Obama is just too far left for me to ever like too much, though I do think he seems to be a "good guy" which is at least heartening in some sense.
