Default The wonders of modern day packaging

The good people at Sony have recently come out with the Cybershot-U line of ultra small digital cameras
Seeing them on sale at Sears today, I had to grab one for my upcoming trip so i dont have to lug around the big camera i use for taking pictures of the pretty girls on Ebpm

As you can see, It is quite small
This caused a huge problem for the packaging engineers at sony
How could they possibly put something so small into a box?
After many months and millions of dollars spent on research and development
they came up with this amazing box!

Yep I think that box could hold 100 of these buggers if it needed to
but nope, that wouldnt be right.. let's waste space, trees, ink, and anything else to put this tiny camera into a huge box

Are you kidding me? The only and I mean only reason they might be able to justify that is for anti-theft purposes but I doubt that could hold any water.

I have a sony Cyber-shot a different model but similar, my box was like ...small.

very smart.... maybe instead of laying people off, they can make the boxes smaller and save some money and resources.. nice camera, I was in the market for a sony.. maybe i'll get that one.. mine is crappy.. it wont even take a pic of a laser.. I need a 5 megapixel..trollonefoo

Yeah this is only 2 megapixels
I wanted it so it would be easy to keep in my pocket and snap photos whenever those times happen where you say you wish you had a camera

for photo shoots i use a sony F707 which is 5 megapixels

I met a guy once that had a degree in package engineering. I wonder what he would think of this?

Yeesh, NOW what's going to happen? ...

holy crap.
that beats any bag of air/potato chips ever.
maybe if it came with a charger, a carrying case, four interchangeable lenses, and a kitten to take pictures of, i could see justifying that huge box.

and in support of my recklessness, you know i firmly believe
i'm gonna die from a beesting
