Default i now live near a beer distributor, make suggestions:

it's on the corner of my block, a mere minute's walk away. and it's actually REALLY well stocked with all kinds of imported beers from all over.
so while i'm not ready to shell out $90 for a case of Chimay (despite it being totally worth it, i know i know), i still want some input on some really good beers that i can enjoy (rather than just sucking down as fast as i can trying to ignore the fetid taste). really, i'm content with the likes of yuengling or even PBR, but i want to move up a notch or two.

i like my beer sweet and strong.

OK, do you like Belgians? If so, things like Delirium Tremens, La Fin Du Monde, Maudite... might be your thing. Look for this:

They're usually sweet and strong, good sipping beers. Plus you look pretty cool drinking something with a label like this:

Then you might want to check out Golden Monkey. They have this at a bar by me, and it's really tasty. Wicked strong, too. I seem to remember it being surprisingly inexpensive for the taste/kick.

i have two bottles of that in my fridge RIGHT NOW.
i just drank two bottles, one of Victory Lager, and one of their HopDevil.
i bought a case of the Victory Variety Pack, and i have not been disappointed.

i think we're on some kinda wavelength here.

$26 a case here, my friend. i don't know if that's a good price or bad, but there has to be SOME advantage to having this beer brewed in a local suburb.

i'll look into it.
if they don't have it at the case distributor, other places in town that sell exotic beer by the bottle (like The Foodery, if anyone knows philadelphia) might.
