ooh!! the sweet sweet foodery! my ex used to live right upstairs from that place. their beer selection was overwhelming. i have probably spent upwards of 3 hours selecting beer from there. although the new sign that they have kind of makes it look like it's called the "oodery."

yes! i also noticed the OODERY sign, and i think i like that even better.
and when faced with that wide a selection of beers, i really do get paralyzed with indecision.
eventually i just get kinda random, blindly picking things based on arbitrary criteria (like a cartoon cat on the label, or lots of skeletons (always a good sign)) and sometimes that works and sometimes it doesnt'. i got this amazing german beer that was something like 11% ABV and it looped me for the rest of the night.

alright my fav beers are fat tire which someone already listed, beamish and grolsch and its hard for me to belive that fat tire might actualy be hard to find its fucking everywhere here.. crazyness! and as far as the delirium famliy gose its all about delirium nocturnum hella expensive (much like all belgium beers) and kinda crazy in taste but tottaly worth it to have a huge oatmeal colored bottle w/ a giant pink elepant on it and then theres always the kings of desent cheap beer mickeys! and pbr baby! ;P

Try a good British beer like Theakston's Old Peculier:
http://www.theakstons.com/beer/old_peculier/

Or maybe a Californian version of Belgian beer, Eye of the Hawk:

Cheers!

...well I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night...

I dunno... but I like the sound of it.

Hmmm...some good beers that I believe are fairly sweet and strong, but reasonably priced...I'm personally more a fan of bitter beers and stouts.

Full Sail ale and rip curl- Made by a company in Newport, Oregon. Good stuff.
Rogue American- Most of the Rogue line is very good and cheap. Also brewed in Newport, Oregon.
Murphy's red ale- I think its pretty good...I can't really remember at the moment..

Sweet beer...the really, sickly sweet kind, makes me wanna gag...something like Old Foghorn is a little more expensive, but incredibly strong and sweet.

The effort of using machines to mimic the human mind has always struck me as rather silly. I would rather use them to mimic something better.

Skull Splitter is great. It's got a very strong flavor. An acquaintance in Scotland says it's sold in grocery stores over there but in these parts it's a fancy import.

A great beer I've found recently that's strong, dark, and a bit sweet, is Moretti dark (La Rossa). If you ever see it, give it a try.
