Default The 44th President

This may not be the negative attack, you may have to expect from me. Today is not the day for that. I witnessed the inauguration of our 44th president, and I must admit, it brought a tear to my eye. Part of me wishes I would have voted for this articulate man, though I know I had my reasons for not doing so. A generation of minority youth will grow up knowing not the culture of victimization, but the hope that they can achieve any dream, even the office of presidency. Our methodology may not be the same, but our goals must be the same.
On a lighter note, was it me, or did Obama have butterflies in his stomach or something? He stuttered over the oath of office. Maybe it was cause they said his middle name "Hussein"? Edit: CNN is saying it was actually Chief Justice John Roberts that screwed it up. That was also a pretty warm embrace by Obama and Bush after Obama's speech as well.
As for the speech, it was rather long-winded(not Obama!), but it was good. I especially liked the bit about "mutual interests and mutual respect" because I feel that in the foundation of society. And he even put his hand over his heart for the National Anthem!

The highlight was definitely Obama's speech... Seeing the capitol thronged with that many people was something that got me a little misty, too.

I could have done without Rick Warren, though. Even in my apartment, I turned my back on him. And that poem... I mean I like the sentiment and all, but I was not terribly impressed.

Seeing Bush (escorted so cordially by President Obama) to his waiting helicopter to fly out of Washington, though, was one of the happiest moments in recent memory.

Now let's get this Inauguration Party going! WOO!

*Yeah, I'm waiting on fixing the economy, too. Finding a good job would be nice. Hell, finding a job would be nice. Maybe I should aspire to "uniquely American" heights and get 3 part-time jobs...

The stumbling over the oath was kinda funny.. the words were all messed up..
they both had it memorized and it all came out wrong... but whatever...

I am just glad it is over and am looking forward to whatever is next...

Yeah, I'm really curious to get to know more about him... I just felt like we never got a chance to during the election.

I'm a Libertarian. I've been voting Libertarian since I was 18. Even kicked flyers around town for a few Libertarian Governer Hopefuls. I don't like the Republican Party, or the Democratic Party, but after what we've been through the last 8 years, I'm really rooting for this Guy. Good Luck Obama, and don't screw us over too badly....

Yeah, I'm a Libertarian too, so I have a hard time getting behind either party as well. I did some petition work for Barr, but it didn't do any good, my state kept him off the ballot(against their own laws).
