I see it all coming down to pieces; I really do. This dirty war was the beginning. However, I can see civil uprisings all over the world. Believe it or not, we are running really low on drinking water. Thus, the U.S. government plans to privatize the water systems because they will not be able to afford the process of desalting sea water.

Life kicks ass! yea!

As always, Google is your friend:

The easiest people to get conscientious objector status are those who belong to several religious groups who are opposed to fighting any wars. The most well known of these groups are Society of Friends (Quakers), Mennonites or Brethren. (When I feel the need to attend a religous server it's usually a Quaker meeting)

There are others who can get CO status, but I would guess someone who is already in the military may have a hard time getting it, although they may simply get a let go with a less than honorable discharge.

Those that do get CO status usually are assigned to some sore of alternative duties either non-military community service or non-combatant (like medics) military service. I recall stories of at least one CO medics getting the Medal of Honor for duty under fire.

Personally I like the idea that folks are required to serve their country, as many european countries require, but I think there needs to be a clear non-military option.
